THE LORDS CLUB
OUR JOURNEY SO FAR
There are so many stages we could write about but here's a few key moments in our brand so far.
2018 - THE SUMMER HOUSE where it all started
It all started in 2018, with an idea I had to create a luxury footwear brand with British heritage and reasonable prices! But where to start ? With a bit of experience from a previous brand I had when i was 17 years old, I had at least some knowledge on how to get going.
After looking at office space I knew this wasn't going to be possible with the budget we had, so my parents summer house would have to do... well its more like a shed really.
2019 - Boots and boxes
So with the workspace sorted and my first member of staff employed (my partner Charlotte) it was time to use what little money I had to get some products made! I contacted an agent I knew in Spain from my first business and did my best to explain what my new brand was all about and asked him to get some Chelsea boot samples ready! A few months later the first order of Chelsea boots arrived, but i had no space to put them! It was time to upgrade from the summer house. The most affordable option I could think of was a storage unit, so thats what we did.
the first sale
After working on all my social media accounts for months hyping up my new brand, it was time to launch! Luckily the hard work paid off and our first sale come in on launch day! I even remember the first ca-ching sound. I knew I needed some more products on the website so i had some small items made such as caps and water bottles. Sales kept coming in gradually but we had to work very hard to get them.
celebrity status
Unfortunately I didn't know many celebrities but I did know 1, Hugo Taylor from Made In Chelsea. He use to wear my loafers from my first brand so I reached out again! Fortunately he was kind enough to wear and post some of the new driving loafers I had made, which as a result attracted more Made In Chelsea stars such as Harry Baron and James Taylor. More orders started to come in and Charlotte and I suddenly found ourselves with quite a few orders to pack and send. Exciting times!!!
COVID - 19
Just as things started to look good for the business, Covid hit!
But what did this mean for the business ? Will the business survive ? Will the world ever go back to the way it was ? Were just a few questions I asked myself. With uncertain times ahead I knew we needed to adapt and work with whatever we had to keep the business alive. There were many challenged during this time especially with supply as most factories were closed due to the pandemic.
TODAY
So after a few long years of Covid restrictions and lockdowns, the business managed to survive it all!
The journey hasn't been easy and is likely to still have many challenges ahead but I am very proud to say we are still growing today! We ship worldwide and have shipped to over 80 countries around the world, the business is still family run by myself and my partner Charlotte along with some other friends and family that lend a hand. We aim to keep growing and hope to open our first flagship store very soon along with some popups throughout the year at some popular events.
We'd like to thank all of our new and existing customers who make running The Lords Club possible and we hope you continue to follow our journey.
